I-90 Dresbach Bridge Completed

Dresbach BridgeWith all lanes and ramps open to traffic, the two newly completed spans are carrying some 28,000 cars a day between the two states on Interstate 90, replacing a 49-year-old steel structure that was closed in April. A joint venture of the two states, the $189 million I-90 project includes a total of nine spans moving traffic over the river between the Interstate and Hwy. 61.

FINLEY provided design calculations and drawings for 9 cofferdams, 2 of which will be constructed in over 60’ of water. FINLEY worked with the Contractor to incorporate their preferred details, means and methods, and coordinated throughout the design to make use of the most economical and readily available structural steel sections, for a tailor-made design that used their materials. FINLEY submitted all items ahead of the aggressive schedule. FINLEY also provided construction engineering including integrated shop drawings, construction analysis, camber curves and construction manual, falsework / temporary support works, segment casting geometry and casting manual, post-tensioning calculations and elongations, on-site inspections and design office support.
