Finley Engineering Group (FINLEY) welcomes new staff member, Harlen Shackelford as Marketing Coordinator to the rapidly-expanding bridge design and construction engineering firm.
With a dynamic background in both marketing and journalism, Harlen is responsible for coordinating FINLEY’s marketing activities with a specific focus on social media.
Prior to joining FINLEY, Harlen began his career working with various sports news outlets including Tallahassee-based collegiate newspaper, FSView & Florida Flambeau , and journalism powerhouse, Sports Illustrated . During his time covering Florida State athletics, Harlen interviewed and worked with numerous athletes, coaches, administrators, and college leaders.
Upon graduation from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, Harlen took a position as Marketing Assistant at Greatness, Inc. The speaking firm, headed by 11-time New York Time Best-Selling author and award-winning keynote speaker Don Yaeger, is where Harlen quickly developed his marketing skillset collaborating on projects with Marketing Director Anjie Cheatham. Within a year at the firm, Harlen rose to become Associate Marketing Director having modernized how the company identified speaking engagements and other opportunities.
