Finley Engineering Group (FINLEY), recognized nationally and internationally for its expertise in complex bridge projects, is excited to announce the hiring of Senior Bridge Engineer, Jiri Pertold, PhD, P.E., S.E. and Bridge Designer, Olga Iatsko, PhD, E.I.T.
Jiri Pertold, PhD, P.E., S.E.
Jiri is a registered Structural Engineer (S.E.) in California, Washington and Oregon, with 25 years of structural design experience, specializing in design in high seismic zones. He has experience with all design stages, from concept plans through final PS&E, and has also worked on the evaluation, retrofit, repair and rehabilitation of structures. His technical skills include nonlinear time-history analysis, push-over analysis, design of triple friction bearings, seismically isolated structures, shafts, piles, diaphragms, retaining walls, expansion joints and P.T. design. He has designed bridges in steel and concrete, pedestrian, roadway and freight rail bridges. Jiri is experienced in construction administration, QA/QC, quantity takeoff, structural reports, load rating and design build projects. Jiri is well-versed in project management, estimates, project scheduling, budget creation, team-leading and mentoring. He has designed per AASHTO, AREMA, IBC, and worked with local codes in multiple U.S. states.
Significant bridge projects that Jiri has worked on include Reservation Junction, Sound Transit (Tacoma, Washington), Puyallup River Cable Stayed Bridge (Tacoma, Washington), Potter Road Bridge (Whatcom County, Washington) and North Going Street Bridges (Portland, Oregon).

Olga Iatsko, PhD, E.I.T.
Olga has a PhD in Civil Engineering from Auburn University, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture. As a Graduate Research Assistant for Auburn University, she developed proposals for bridge related projects sponsored by state DOTs. Olga was a lead researcher for five bridge related research projects within a four year period. Prior to this, Olga worked as a Junior Researcher in Ukraine where she was involved in all phases of development for numerous projects. Her areas of expertise within bridge engineering include calibration of design specifications (AASHTO LRFD) and the development of load models using applied statistics and structural reliability. Olga is fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian.
