For Immediate Release
KYLE JOHNSON HAS BEEN SELECTED FOR THE 2014 ACCOUNTING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AT FINLEY
Tallahassee, FL (April 16, 2014). Finley Engineering Group (FINLEY) welcomes Kyle Johnson as Accounting Intern at its growing bridge design and construction engineering firm.
Kyle is pursuing his Bachelor in Accounting at Florida State University and was recognized for his academic accomplishments on the Dean’s List in 2012. Kyle’s long-term plans include obtaining a Master of Accounting and CPA. Kyle’s student membership and leadership activities include: The Florida State University Student Leadership Council; Local Business Shadowing Chairman; The National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting Fraternity).
Kyle will be supporting the accounting department with activities including preparing journal entries, monthly reports, accounts payable, invoicing and learning the Ajera accounting system. He will learn how to perform work in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Priniciples (GAAP), regulatory requirements and the organization’s policies and procedures.
“I wanted to intern at a private company with the opportunity to work more directly with other staff. FINLEY also uses a sophisticated accounting software and there’s more opportunity to get actual experience with a variety of accounting tasks. Larger corporations don’t offer the same opportunities to apply the variety of what I’m learning in school. Also their focus is more narrow and impersonal. The FINLEY internship program is exactly what I was looking for in a company. I know t I’ll be building a solid foundation for my career.” said Kyle.
“Kyle has a strong academic background and is eager to apply what he is learning. He is very enthusiastic about developing his career by his involvement and leadership in the student organizations. As an intern, Kyle will begin work immediately learning the accounting system and performing entry level tasks suitable for his education and background. We are excited to have Kyle in our internship program.” said Colby Lindsay, Comptroller, FINLEY.
