This $177M project includes improvements for the SR 91 / SR 417 interchange to
accommodate widening of SR91 Florida’s Turnpike. As the sub-consultant to Pevida
Highway Designers (prime) and The Lane Construction Corporation (contractor),
FINLEY Engineering Group (FINLEY) prepared the bridge design for the steel box girder flyover
ramps as part of the Cost Savings Initiative (CSI).

Additionally, FINLEY provided preliminary bid estimates, value engineering, and
analysis for the following ramps:

Ramp A2 (northbound SR 91 to southbound SR 417) includes the construction of a 1,882
ft-long, 9-span, third level steel box girder bridge. The design modifications include
removal of the intermediate plate diaphragms and modifications to the erection
sequence in order to remove the need for temporary towers during girder erection.

Ramp C2 (southbound SR 91 to northbound SR 417) includes the construction of a 1,455
ft-long, 6-span, third level steel box girder bridge. The design modifications include
shortening the overall bridge length and revising pier locations to accommodate
planned future widening of SR 91, as well as to remove the intermediate plate
diaphragms and modifications to the erection sequence.
